FC Bulgaria 3 - 0 Central Park Rangers

FC Bulgaria climbed to the top of the Division 2 table, after a convincing 3-0 home victory against CPR. The lions didn't have much trouble and dominated the game for large periods. The slip up by FC japan means that the Bulgarians are the sole leaders in the division for the first time this season. There were a few changes in the line up from last week, with Bobby D. making way for Fori and Minkov replaced by Vesko.

The game began pretty even with the away team trying to play long balls, but Angel stood firm at the back. Slowly the hosts began dictating things with Fori and Bobby R. establishig themselves in the middle, and Andro tortured the left back all afternoon. Boho missed a clear chance after shooting wide from the edge of the box, and Galin shot high after some fine individual dribbling. Joro had a strong run from the midfield when he beat 4 players but run out of steam once he reached the box and was crowded. The first goal came right on the stroke of half time. A cross from the left was cleared to Vesko who shot it first time, the goalkeeper managed to save it but the rebound fell invitingly to Andro who smashed it into the right bottom corner to open his account for the season.

The goal right before the break seemed to discourage our opposition, and soon it was 2-0. Andro beat his marker but scuffed his cross, somehow the goalie dropped the ball, and Galin had to just tap it in. The visitors opened up at the back and the lions started creating lots of goal scoring opportunities. Garo who entered at the break looked lively on the left and set up Vesko for an easy finish but the forward miscontroled it, a few minute later there was a repeat of the situation with Galin being the provider. Mladen had a long range effort saved. But finally in the 73rd minute the Bulgarians achieved the classic scoreline, when Andro broke free and squared it to Galin for the tap in. The back four wasn't troubled in the second half with Koko having to save only a long range free kick. Galin missed 2 sitters at the end as well, but he could be forgiven after his 2 goal performance that was full of running.

Line up: 1. Koko 2.Angel 12.Ico (Bobby D.) 5.Joro 6.Mladen (3.Doktora) 14.Andro 13.Bobby R. 8.Fori 10.Boho (18.Garo) 9.Galin 4.Vesko

Our second string had an impressive victory this week by 2-1. After going a goal behind early and with rado making a string of fine saves in goal it was hard to envisage a come back. But a commanding second hafl performance saw the lions take all 3 points. Firstly, Minkov threaded the defense with an inch perfect through ball to Stenli, who toe poked it in the corner. And 10 minutes from time Ivan found the net from a right wing shot, to bring the second victory of the season.
